General Terms and Conditions of Contracting

1. Purpose and General Provisions

These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter, the “General Terms and Conditions”) govern the purchase of products and the contracting of services through the website https://cefi.es/ (hereinafter, the “Website” or the “Portal”), owned by CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS PARA EL FOMENTO DE LA INVESTIGACIÓN CEFI FUNDACIÓN PRIVADA (hereinafter, “CEFI”), Tax ID No. G-08793499, registered with the Ministry of Education, Social Policy and Sport under registration number 115, with registered office at Pío XII, 49 Loft 1, 28016 Madrid (Spain).

The purchase of any product or the contracting of any service through the Website implies the full and unreserved acceptance by the user (hereinafter, the “User”) of each and every provision of these General Terms and Conditions. Acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions also implies that the User’s data will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

CEFI provides information regarding its own products and services and offers the possibility of purchasing and contracting them through the Website. Users wishing to purchase products or contract services must complete the registration form during the purchase process and follow the steps subsequently indicated by CEFI through the Website.

These General Terms and Conditions, together with the Legal Notice, the Cookies Policy and the Privacy Policy, constitute the sole applicable terms governing the use of the Website and the contracting of products and services, and replace any other conditions unless expressly agreed in writing between CEFI and the User.

All Users accessing the Website must be at least 18 years of age.


2. Information on Products and Services

Photographs, graphic or iconographic representations and videos relating to CEFI products, as well as trade names, trademarks or any other distinctive signs included on the Website, are intended to provide the greatest possible information.

In the event that, due to force majeure circumstances—such as extraordinary natural phenomena, acts of authority, armed conflicts or extreme violence, pandemics or health crises, general interruptions of essential supplies or services, strikes or labour disputes, etc.—a product is unavailable or a service cannot be provided after a purchase has been completed, CEFI will notify the User by email, without prejudice to the User’s right of withdrawal in accordance with these General Terms and Conditions.


3. Product Purchase and Service Contracting System

To purchase a product or contract a service, the User must select the desired product or service and add it to the cart by clicking the “Buy” icon. Once the selection is complete, the User must click “View Cart” and then “Checkout”. The User will then be asked to provide the necessary information for shipment or service registration and, if desired, to create an account. The User must complete the personal data fields shown on screen and accept these General Terms and Conditions. Clicking “Checkout” is required to proceed.

Once the data has been completed, the User must confirm the payment method by clicking “Checkout” and following the on-screen instructions.

The username and password used for Website registration are personal, non-transferable identifiers required to access and complete purchases.

Upon completion of the purchase and confirmation of payment, the User will receive a purchase confirmation. If the User requests a paper invoice, a copy will be sent in that format.

All products and services offered on the Website include a description of their features, price and other relevant information. If a product is out of stock, this will be expressly indicated or the User will be informed by email, including an estimated delivery date.


4. Prices of Products and Services

Prices displayed on the Website include VAT and any other applicable taxes, as well as shipping costs.

CEFI reserves the right to modify prices at any time. Products and services will be invoiced at the price shown on the Website at the time the order is placed.


5. Payment for Products and Services

The User undertakes to pay at the time the order is placed. Shipping costs, where applicable, will be added to the product price and communicated prior to order confirmation.

Payment may be made by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Visa Electron or similar) or by bank transfer.

The User must notify CEFI of any improper or fraudulent charges by emailing info@cefi.es as soon as possible.

CEFI applies appropriate security measures. Card payments are processed through a secure server using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. CEFI does not access or store payment data. Only Santander E-commerce POS processes such data for payment management.


6. Product Delivery

CEFI undertakes to deliver products in perfect condition to the address provided by the User, provided it is located in Spain, excluding the Balearic and Canary Islands. For deliveries outside this territory, the User must contact info@cefi.es.

Products will be delivered within 10 days of order receipt. If products are unavailable, the corresponding amount and shipping costs will be refunded.

Acceptance and payment of the order imply acceptance of the selected delivery method and its cost.

CEFI is not liable for delivery errors resulting from incorrect address details provided by the User.


7. Product Returns

Subscribers may cancel any magazine subscription by notifying CEFI in writing at info@cefi.es. Cancellation will take effect within 10 days, and any unused portion of the annual subscription will be refunded pro rata.

If a product or service cannot be delivered due to circumstances beyond CEFI’s control, including force majeure, CEFI will notify the User and refund the amount paid or offer an equivalent product or service.


8. Conditions Applicable to Services

Services will be provided under the terms published on the Website. If changes occur between contracting and service delivery, the User will be informed by email. If changes prevent service delivery, the service will be cancelled and the amount refunded.

Training courses are subject to a minimum number of participants. If this threshold is not met, the course may be cancelled and fees refunded within 10 days.

Attendance certificates may be requested at info@cefi.es and will be issued within one week.


9. Amendments to the General Terms and Conditions

CEFI may modify the Website and these General Terms and Conditions at any time. Users are responsible for reviewing them before making purchases.


10. Communications Between CEFI and the User

All communications relating to these General Terms and Conditions or purchases shall be made in writing using the procedures specified herein.


11. Entire Agreement

These General Terms and Conditions, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy and Legal Notice, constitute the entire agreement between CEFI and the User.


12. Partial Invalidity

If any provision is declared null, the remaining provisions shall remain in force.


13. Applicable Law

These General Terms and Conditions are governed by Spanish law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent Spanish courts.

CEFI is affiliated with Confianza Online, a non-profit organisation registered in Spain.


14. Complaints and Claims

Users may submit complaints via (+34) 91 309 13 47 or info@cefi.es. Complaints will be handled promptly with acknowledgement of receipt.
