CEFI, as a member of the Interministerial Commission to act against activities which infringe intellectual and industrial property rights, backs the institutional anti-counterfeiting campaign carried out by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism together with the Spanish Patent and Trade Mark Office.
This campaign is included in the Spanish government’s 2019 Annual Advertising and Communication Plan and its aim is to raise public awareness of the harm caused by purchasing counterfeit goods and to raise awareness about responsible and safe consumption.
It aims to have a direct impact on the people who demand these products by informing them of the negative effects on the economy, employment and innovation that counterfeit products cause, as well as their risk to the health and safety of users.
The negative impact of counterfeit products on sales and employment in Spain is higher than the European average and seriously damages the brand of the country itself.
The slogan of the campaign is ‘By saying no to fakes, we all win’ and their advertising claim is ‘The worst discounts in the world. Miss out on them’. The campaign is being shared on TV, outdoor billboards, at shopping centres and on the Internet
